This page displays a multitude of educational opportunities that I was presented with during my 2017-2018 PGY-1 residency. As detailed below, I was able to conduct topic discussions with my staff and students at Topeka Pharmacy, academic detailing with local prescribers, and discuss community-pharmacy-relevant topics in the world of research.

Topic Discussions
Most topic discussions were facilitated by me. I created supplement materials for those who wished to participate in the topic of the hour. The discussion was open to all of the pharmacy and required attendance was expected of student pharmacists. If students were participating, I would act as a an evaluator of the experience and provide the student with feedback on their discussion skills.

Academic Detailing
I had been approached by a local physician’s office in regards to providing education materials for the staff and general public. After I had created the education tools, I set up a lunch meeting to review the materials with the physician and his staff. The information provided was received very well, and they hope to continue to use the pharmacy resident as an educational resource.
