Summative MidPoint Evaluation - Academia
Provided below is the feedback given to me on two of my quarterly evaluations for my Academic experience as part of my PGY-1 residency experience. Following the feedback are PDF documents of the evaluations.
January Summative Evaluation:
"Kacie has consistently demonstrated responsibility and professionalism both inside and outside labs. Kacie is always on time despite a long, difficult commute and extremely engaged and participatory, which is greatly appreciated by students and faculty."
"Kacie attended an Assessment Committee meeting in the fall and contributed her thoughts and ideas to this meeting. I have not given Kacie other opportunities to participate in organizational level management activities but can do so in the spring semester."
"Kacie has always completed items by the deadlines. She is currently balancing her time and work between research, Topeka pharmacy and PPLs and has been able to do so effectively from what I have observed."
"Kacie has done an excellent job teaching, evaluating and providing feedback to students in PPLs. Kacie does a great job conveying constructive criticism and the seriousness of deficiencies in student performance without making students feel bad. Her presence and expertise in PPLs is greatly valued. A strength of Kacie's in her teaching and beyond is communication, as Kacie communicates clearly and effectively."
"Kacie's written communication is clear, concise and free of grammatical errors. Kacie has provided this effective written communication to multiple levels of student learners and will be doing so more with faculty in the coming months."
"It has been an absolute pleasure working with Kacie in PPLs. Her contributions, positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to help where needed are appreciated more than she knows. I encourage Kacie to share ways in which her academia experience can be improved so that she can get the most out of it in the remaining months."
April Summative Evaluation:
"Whereas Kacie's academic focus was previously on delivery and student evaluation using items created by others, this past quarter Kacie has developed many items herself. These include a lecture on acne, a skills lab on self care in dermatology and ophthalmology, and case development using a teaching electronic medical record for a P1 case studies course. I believe Kacie has gained an appreciation of what is required for the development of academic materials. Kacie continues to excel at giving students feedback and creating an environment conducive to student learning through her positive attitude, approachability and willingness to speak with students about a variety of topic."
